Ideal Training Base

Lugano Airport has many features that make it the ideal training base for aviation training. It is open 7 days a week, all year round, from 08:00 to 20:00, and handles a very diverse traffic flow, without being overcrowded. It also has a complex instrument approach system. The weather conditions are favorable, with no frequent issues of fog or heavy rain.

Proximity to Other Airports: Its geographical location allows for visual flight training to other Swiss airports (Locarno, Sion, the highest airport in Europe, Samedan, …) and Italian airports (Aosta, Milan Bresso, …) as well as the possibility of instrument approaches to airports such as Linate, Brescia, Verona, Turin, and Cuneo, all within 1-hour flight from Lugano, making the training even more effective.
